2012 Line up!

It looks like Caparison just released their new 2012 line up!! It looks like the long awaited Joel Stroetzel JSM model is finally out. It’s basically a modified Angelus TR without the trem and EMGs. Speaking of EMGs, all Caparison models now come with the option of either Caparison Design pickups or EMGs. Granted it’s more like the shop you deal with gets an option unless you do a custom order through a dealer.

Additionally all models now feature the optional control that was introduced last year on certain models.

In addition to the JSM model, there’s also the new Dellinger-CA that was introduced earlier this year as well as new finishes on existing models and they’ve pretty much amalgamated the Horus and Horus HGS models. Instead we now have the Horus-M3 and Horus-WM models which are essentially the same minus the body wood. There is no more rosewood fingerboards, instead it’s a regular horus body with a HGS neck that is, either a bounded maple or bound ebony neck.

Caparison is back!!!

Itaru just announced on the official Caparison website that the company is back! Here’s the post:

Please be informed that Caparison Guitars finished all activity in May, 2011 due to the bankruptcy of Kyowa Shokai Co., Ltd. who was then owner of the Caparison brand.

On behalf of Kyowa, I, Itaru Kanno would like to express my most sincere apologies to all of our customers and artists who had difficulties as a result.

From this unhappy event, the guitar manufacturer, the companies concerned and I (designer) have been striving for a fresh start for Caparison Guitars.

At this time, we are pleased to announce the takeover of Caparison by the Caparison Guitar Company Ltd. Caparison Guitars is reborn and makes a fresh start with immediate effect.
