    WIRING: EMG 81,SA, 60 with push/pull to get 81+60

Here's a bit of wiring someone requested from me. Basically this is for an H-S-H guitar like the setup on an Ibanez Jem or most RG's. Because some folks want to get both the neck and bridge pickups like on a Les Paul, this wiring will allow that even using EMG's.

    What you get is this:

    (push/pull down)
    1. 81
    2. 81+SA
    3. SA
    4. SA+60
    5. 60

    (push/pull up)
    81+60

Irregardless of where the 5-way switch is, once you pull up on the push/pull switch you get both neck+bridge pickups as the 5-way will have been bypassed engaging only the neck and bridge. Pretty cool I must say. Glad it only took my 3 minutes to figure it out.

Hope you enjoy it! Please feel free to comment on the wiring.

    Cheers,

    Budd

PS. Sorry for the ugly hand writing. It would just take me longer to do the diagram on the computer than just doodle it on my notepad.

EDIT: I UPDATED THE WIRING AS I FOUND SOME DISCREPENCIES WITH THE FIRST VERSION. THIS VERSION SHOULD WORK BETTER. PLEASE DISCARD THE PREVIOUS WIRING DIAGRAM IF YOU HAVE PRINTED IT.

That's a very cool wiring scheme!! Can it work on other pickups other than EMG's?

I hope the wiring diagram works for you ax1.

It's definitely an interesting wiring. I mean the alternative is to wire it so that the push/pull brings the neck pickup in, but that would mean that every time you wanted neck +bridge, you'd have to pull the switch AND switch over to the bridge pickup. This is just easier. Seriously, why didn't someone think of this solution before?

EDIT: Hey guys, I just updated the wiring diagram as I found something screwy with it. The one attached in the first post is now correct.

    Cheers,

    Budd
