    Manne guitars

I just got me a Manne Taos Special!!
I just couldnt resist it. I got a very good price, but it had a large ding to the body, so I just took it to a luthier staight away to get it fixed.
So, I havent tried it that much yet.

Any of you that has any experience with manne guitars?

They are hand made from Itally, and have have their own design. I guess you either love it or hate it.

Sorry man I haven't had much first hand experience with them. It does look like a rather interesting guitar though.

The ding probably was one reason for the price being low, but its not that bad, and I think the main reason is that Manne Guitars are relatively unknown here in Sweden.

The German distributor has a listprice at EURO 2779 (around $ 3750), in the US they seem to be at $ 4690 (!) http://keithhollandguitars.com/products.php?cat=41

I got mine for around $ 875, and the repair will be around $ 125.

I agree the body shape take a while to get used to. I first saw Manne in real life on an exhibition in Germany last year and since then I have actually come to think they are very nice!
There is a Rumainian guitarist on Youtube that plays one, and where you can see it up close in action:

I like it, minus the lame headstock.

I just can't get into the weird shapes. But, if it plays well, then I guess you can make an exception.
