I have an Ibanez PGM301 with basswood and maple bolt on neck and its a very bright guitar, real trebly. I installed a set of BKP Holy Divers in it and it made a huge difference. I love the sound. Dropped down to Dflat standard tuning with some heavy gauge strings and it really beefed it up. It's a little metal machine.

I have a painkiller (B) and Nailbomb (N) setup in a mahogany neck thru Carvin DC127 and it is really good. The nailbomb in the neck is perfect for soloing and hearing the pic attack and all that. Bell like notes sound amazing.

    Hope that helps.

Hi Strat! My Dellinger is Mahagony, Maple and Ebony. Xykhron originally recommended the Holy Diver when I bought it but in the end becasue of reviews I ended up with the Painkiller. I can't say I am 100% convinced and recently I have been watching videos were the Aftermath sounds more modern and ballsy and I really liked that casue most of my setups sound pretty classic, but I don't know how it would react with the Mahagony. I changed the gauge on my strings though and my pick attack has gone back to normal, so maybe it also has a lot to do with my way of picking.

Currently I am considering Aftermath, Screaming Demon and Crunchlab. Wouldn't know what to decide on right now though. I am kinda waiting to make a bit more cash and go straight into changing all on the Dellinger. I just want it to crush and crunch, but be articulate enough to allow for strumming chords and doing incisive leads if necessary.

    Will keep you guys informed.

Hi friends of the interwebz. I am refloating my own thread. I have saved some cash and sent my amp for a check up. With the remaining money I want to get the pick ups. I think I will go with Amotts original configuration prior to the Dimarzio Endorsement. What do you guys think?

The freakin Aftermath is still calling me though. But I have the slight feeling that it will get old on me fast...

I also solved the problem I was having with my tone for a while. Since I changed string gauges when buying the thing, even though the tuning stayed the same, the tension was different enough to screw my intonation and action in a weird way. Everything but the lower strings worked so good I thought it must have been me. In the end it was a combination of everything. Getting used to a new picking style due to the middle pick up and all those things that needed readjustment. Turns out these guitars are really sensitive. I love the built though and think I'll dominate this thing eventually. It's one of my favourite guitars ever.

So. I have finally decided to go for something balanced that will get heavy with a hi-gain set up like ENGL-ish heads or Peaveys but behave nicely with Marhalls or Oranges. I am keeping my Koch Twintone II inmind. With an OD and maybe a compressor in front I can get anything I want from crushing obscene to rockish tone. The middle and neck will act as complements either to set themselves off from the bridge or blend in nicely.

I have no particular preference for any of the particular pick ups I am listing after, but after trying, reading, listening and knowing the kind of overhaul I want I think these will do the job just right.

The only option that would be different is if I chose to have to single sized humbuckers both for the middle and neck positions. My H-S-S config options for the Delli Trans Rose would be these:

BRIDGE: Screaming Demon / Crunch lab / BKP Holy Diver

    MIDDLE: True Velvet / Hot Rails (SHR-1n) / SSL-1

NECK: Air NortonS / Hot Rails (SHR-1n)

Which do you guys think will get the best result in the mahagony body considering the rest of the built specs of this guitar?

Which of these would you throw together regardless of the brand and do you think that matching them would be easy (wiring and so on) without making obvious jumps in the tone or presenting any other difficulties?

    Thanks a bunch!
