If you are given a C2 model

So say you are given the choice to be given a C2 model, which one you pick?
If you had to make modification to it what will they be?

    Choice:
Being a bass player I would be tempted to give caparison basses a try so my choice would be the :
    DEB-E

    Body
The body from my understanding is the same as the original, and primary based on the Dillinger model so you will be getting that thick body with a nice contour where the neck joint is so, wooohoo for that, i don't think anyone else does that.
I just hope that it being made out of bass wood will not make it too light.

    Pickup arrangement
The pickups are EMGs and since this is bass you really can't complain, the pickup selection does however restrict your options of other brands, With the original PJ <--- is that what they call them? you had way more options but like I said, it's bass and EMGs are good for that.

    Color
as if I didn't have enough black basses already, the finish is one thing I was not terribly excited about, thus I will probably either sand it completely off and paint it something crazy like a fluorescent color or perhaps just spray it with dull coat to give it more of that old pro finish look. I also really like the yellow apple horn so I might try to replicate that.

    Bridge
    Bridge stays!

    input jack
wish they were similar to the guitar ones >.> it is a pain sitting down with your input jack poking at your leg or at the floor when you rest your bass against something.

    Neck
With the exception of the clock inlays the neck looks exactly the same as the previous model which is good and bad depending on how you look at it

    Good
You can now add your own inlay stickers... tree of life anyone?

    Bad
    no clocks

    Color
Gona have to stain that neck, I have a bunch of basses and they are all rosewood, it is a risk with clock inlays but since they are not there, there is no need to worry about any of them.

    Machine heads
It doesn't specify what kind of machine heads are being used, but if they are not gotoh or shaller then they will have to go. maybe add a hipshot xtender

I would probably, actually go with a Bass! I don't have one and I think it would complete my guitar collection and help me make "fuller" sounding demos As for mods, I'd leave it as it is lol.

I would probably go with bass as well. Personally I'm not that interested in the C2 series all that much. I want the good stuff mwuhahah ! Not that C2 won't be good....but you's get me.
    I like the offset dots!

I would love a caparison bass, I will buy one in ANY colour, apart from gloss black. Total deal breaker.

+1 to that. I'm not at all partial to rosewood fretboards, or dot inlays.

I highly recommend picking up a second instrument, and if you do pick up the bass don't take the short cut and just play with a pick. relearning how to play will ultimately improve your skills on your main and help you fix bad habits.

Anyway, the price will ultimitly decide everything but it is amazing how so many of you will be interested in the bass. like most of you, I'm perfectly satisfied with my current guitars but here is my argument why it might be a good buy:

    1. a squire feels good even if it is 200 dollars (atleast to me) so if the neck profile feels nearly as amazing as what caparison is known fore then why the hell not?

    2. It has EMG pickups. Put EMGs on anything and it will sound like EMGs, so you know it will sound good regardless. (bass standards)

    3. while the bridge is no Wilkinson, you can always change it

    4. This on a bass [inspect the image]

Now look at your Dillinger or horus and honestly ask yourself would you want just a regular neck joint on a bass?

I don't mind trying out the C2 range, but I don't see myself buying one.
