    Home builds

Have always wanted to build my own guitar (with my love of workworking and metal music! ) So i've finally decided to take the plunge and started these projects:

    01) 7 string FF (25' ~ 26.5') singlecut, inspired by David Myka's Fretless Dragonly

    Specs:
    - Wenge / maple 5 piece neck thru
    - Flamed maple fretboard, walnut veneer / flamed maple bindings
    - Queensland ash body
    - Claro walnut carved top
    - Hipshot locking tuners
    - Lace X-Bar / Death bar combo
    - Rondo single saddles

    02) Redwood burl Carved top Soloist 7 FR 25.5' (in progress)

    Specs:
    - Black limba (korina) 1 piece neck thru & body
    - Maccasar ebony fretboard with redwood 'piranah' markers & ivoroid bindings
    - Redwood burl carved top & matching 4+3 headstock
    - SD Sentient / Pegusus combo
    - Original FR black
    - Hipshot locking tuners

Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures

Thanks guys! Did this purely as a hobby since i wanted to try a multiscale, and i'm sure if you hold it close enough you'll spot various flaws in them!

Yup! Those are the markers i tend to rely on higher up the frets.

Awesome work dude! I love the body shape and woods you used on the first one, especially the carving.
How long do these take to complete?

Thanks mate! Be sure to check out Myka's work http://www.mykaguitars.com/instruments/071/default.htm

Hmmm the first one started in Aug 2013, finished end Dec, spent around 10 hrs a week so around 100 plus hrs (hands on work)?

Being the first build I've lost some hrs mucking around with tools and had to rebuild the neck once. Also factor in drying/setting times.

Really cool stuff mate. Do you think you would ever take on orders? Or is it purely a personal hobby thing?
