If you got a real single coil in the neck, it's probably too bright because of the stock 500k pot. You can replace the stock pot with a 250k pot but your humbucker would get too dark. My mod lets you keep the stock 500k pot but give the single coil the 250k load that it works better with. All you need is a 500k resistor running parallel to the pot.

I can probably sell you part plus the instructions for $10 or some sort of donation to the forum.
That'd be pretty awesome. What will the single coil end up sounding like? More of a glassy strat tone? I want it to sound as "single coily" as possible.

I was thinking about 18v EMGs in my horus but it looked like a really tight squeeze for the 2 batteries, now that I see it's possible I'm tempted to try this. What EMG was in the neck?

In the neck position I believe it was an EMG SA. Although any of the EMGs would be the same (SA/SV/SAV)

I was just thinking why you are using 250k cap on the single and a 500k pot, when EMGs use 25 ohm pots? Just wondering.

I actually didn't I only mentioned that it was possible to mod your switch to simulate a 250k pot if you had a true single coil along with a regular humbucker.

On EMGs you'd want to use a 27k resistor along with the stock 500k pot to get a simulated 25k load.
