Boss DR-770

Is there anyone here on the forum familiar with this drum machine, DR770? If so is there anyway easier way to progam it than how it show in the manual? I had an Alesis and it was pretty easy this one not so much. I mean, it sound better more bells and whistles and all but the manual is very poorly written and I have problems programming sometimes. I need advice on this and or where to get a good tutorial on the machine (ie. new manual, dvd). Thanks in advance for the info. Or should I just get the newer Dr-880 or go with some drum software? Which soft ware or machine do you guys recommend?

I'm kind of in the same boat, I bought a DR 670 a couple months ago with high hopes of programming my own songs. Well, I can make my own beats, but as far as an entire song, that's another story. Pretty sure its because I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the drums, not so much the machine. I'm a big fan of boss/roland products but their manuals always leave a lot to be desired. I know for my Fantom X8 I bought a DVD off ebay made by some 3rd party company that was a HUGE help, and I'm pretty sure they make one for the DR 880, not too sure about the 770 though.

Here's one for the 880:

and one for the 670:

Just from a quick read it looks like the one for the 670 would possibly help with the 770?

Thanks, Sparky. The 670 looks alot like the 770. Both layout look similar and the control functions. I think they are pretty much the same just more bells and whistles on the 770.
I appreciate the info. Thinking about going EZ drummer or the Superior Drummer 2.0. I have heard both are ez to use and very good on the samples and patterns. I am going to try to find a vid demoing the 770. If I can't find one I will probably get the 670 vid instead. Thanks once again.
