    Cool Bareknuckle nailbomb and painkiller

This thread has probably been posted 1000 times, have a horus just purchased an air norton s for the neck and wondering any recommendations between the nailbomb and the painkiller perhaps any direct comparasin sound clips? i hear the painkiller is tigther with a more bass and mid response than the nailbomb which is kinda airy and organic, i like the sound of that but i do like a nice tight bass. Also what spacing do i need for a horus? and what leg length for direct mounting still.

play a lot of rock/ heavy rock metal nothing that will tear your face off like sudz music. I just cant decide between the two.

Any help much appretiated. standard horus with rosewood fretboard

I have a D-sonic in my horus and a nailbomb in my dellinger. The dellinger sounds unplugged a shitload more bassy than the horus, which sounds very hi-middy. Dunno how the pickup choice is affecting but it seems to me that it's VERY hard to get the bass response to settle on the dellinger-nailbomb combination. (Basically, I have my bass and lo-mid set to 0 on my pod, and it's still bassy as hell...) I'd sure love to try a painkiller. (And a warpig too)

EDIT: That didn't really help, did it.. ?

What kind of amp are you running and what kind of tone are you going for? Have you also checked out the Dimarzio Crunchlab? Some friends of mine just got it and it sounds AWESOME!!!

All guitars with a floyd rose use f-spaced pickups. If the manufacturer doesn't list it as "regular" and "f-spaced", and I don't think BKP does, you need that wider of the two spacings (53mm instead of 50mm).

I am not sure about leg length. I'd take out your existing one and measure it.

heya cheers all ive decied on the painkiller, nah the crunch lab isnt me it sound middy like a B Maximiser like a rackmounted sound, and through a pod doesnt really give any tonality at all its all electronic:P i have a engl special edition se 6L6 e670, im pretty sure a painkiller will give the bass and tightness i need without being totally over the top like a warpig. So i need a 53mm instead of 50mm?

If your playing more heavy rock I would recommend something like a Holy Diver or Rebel Yell over a Painkiller.
